All members of staff will have submitted an application form, been interviewed, spent time on the premises, provided written references and proof of qualifications. In addition they will have completed a medical form and submitted a form to have an enhanced  CRB check carried out.

Each member of staff will then undergo a 3-month probationary period following which they will be given a permanent position.  All staff will be required to attend a first aid course; a moving and handling course: a child protection course and a basic food hygiene course in addition to which they will all go through an induction phase during their first weeks of employment.

A person employed as a Nursery Assistant will not be required to hold a qualification, but will be encouraged by the Management to follow relevant training courses (essential ones detailed above)

Once every four to six weeks, staff/unit meetings will be held to ensure all members of staff are kept up to date with new legislation, future goals, and improvements and staff
suggestions.
